PCB in XI XII or MEDICAL! What MINIMUM mathematics is required for PHYSICS in NEET

Specially for Students opting for PCB or in other words Medical stream

For the students who have opted for Physics Chemistry and Biology, have mainly aim to get into MBBS or other allied courses. In other words we can think that they are planning to sit for NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) or somewhat similar exams taking PCB.

Firstly they must analyse why have they left mathematics? Some feel that it will lessen the burden and they can prepare better in all other three subjects. Some others do feel that they cannot do well in mathematics. I am now referring to second type of students who have a feeling that they cannot cope with mathematics. I am for the student who says that I am not interested in Subject. I mean to say that if you want to leave a subject since you feel you cannot do it, is a wrong SIGN anyway. With this feeling you are developing a scare for any subject, which is not good. Moreover if you know the first book of Newton, the renowned name in Physics was named as Mathematica. Simply as per Newton also the Physics and Mathematics are very closely knitted subjects.

With the passage of time, both subjects have widened their scope, but still it is very difficult to study Physics with completely ignoring mathematics, besides the fact that mathematics is otherwise also very important subject. Yes, we might not use full syllabus of mathematics of class XI and Class XII for Physics study. Still some basic idea is very important. In fact at the BA or BSc Mathematics you are still taught the basics of Newton Laws and Kinematics etc.

Now from questions part of NEET, every year about 6 to 7 Questions are based purely on Calculus method. May in Kinematics, or Current electricity of thermodynamics. You may say that we can do these questions otherwise, but my answer is NO. Even if you are able to do such questions that simply means you are aware of mathematical tools to be used. If you study slightly mathematics, NOT as a subject but conceptually atleast for the part which is important for Physics, it is sufficient.

You will require Differentiation Integration part of Calculus, Basic of Coordinate Geometry to understand the nature of  Graphs. Again trigonometry formulas are to be used in calculation or derivation of Waves and SHM chapter. Vector and its component is again very important to study, hence do not leave these topics.

You must have seen that in all the Physics Refresher Books or Guides as we sometimes call it, there is a chapter named as Mathematical Tools. In which this all is given. We do study it anyhow. Then is it not sufficient ? Answer is a BIG NO.

Let me elaborate, when you go to your physics class room, teacher gives you the steps to differentiation and integration. AND we feel we have done it. My dear actually Differentiation and Integration in Class XII is carrying about 45% of syllabus of Mathematics. Then how do we do in JUST FIVE classes or so! .

Actually NEITHER we require so less as is done in FIVE classes NOR  we require full 6 Months course. It requires about 3 months to study complete Mathematics required in Physics instead of full two years course.

I will be starting that course separately if required, You may yourself study ONLINE or at a place nearby from  any good teacher. If you ask I can provide files which gives you idea as to what is REQUIRED. I can mail you that also.

So please make up your MIND either to TAKE MATHEMATICS or STUDY AT LEAST the Basics.

Next we will discuss about BOOKS important for NEET and JEE
