Now we come to another important QUESTION of your mind! Where to STUDY? Which center to join? Which teacher to join?
Confusion is obvious as every year you see various advertisements in various media about various centers, claiming to be the BEST in your region. But for a student or parent to decide, whether it is good or bad is not easy, as an external person, you are not aware of inside story. We don’t know even know the claim, as given by caching centers is true or false. In many cases we find same student showing enrollment in various centers. Now obviously something is WRONG. Who is right and who is wrong? We cannot judge!
Secondly no institute will give information as to how many students have enrolled and what is success rate? And most importantly the way the advertisements are pitched in market. It seems that the total credit is of teacher or coaching center only. We somehow demean the effort of student, which according to me is most important. As per my perception, in the success of a student, maximum role is played by the student itself, and then come the parents, friends and society. Thirdly important step is by the teachers; of course they also play a major role in showing the path to students. Let me exemplify this statement. Even today you can check many coaching center heads have failed to get their son/daughter admitted in AIIMS, AIPMT or IIT, but they are producing toppers in the region. This proves that the student’s effort and intelligence is very very important.
Leaving others even, I may give you my own example, my son got 185 rank in IITJEE and he was PHYSICS topper in that year. But one of my student from that year secured AIR 40. Now how can I refuse to give credibility to my student, In history also Eklavya become a great student by just keeping the idol of Guru Dronacharya. Though Dronacharya made every effort to make Arjun the BEST in the field. In my personal opinion only 10% are the students who get much help from centers to get admission.
Remember the way of study in competition. The final result is either SELECTED or REJECTED, but in boards as the result is in percentage, your effort has to weighed as per your AIM.
No teacher can be BEST for all students and No student can be BEST for every teacher. The best teacher is the ONE whose wavelength matches with yours. Just get to know that what is your purpose to take help and whether that is being fulfilled or not? If I can teach the whole world but NOT you, how can I be a better teacher for you? On the contrary if I can solve your problems but not of other students’ I am a very good teacher for you.
Sad part is here that in most of the coaching centers your first encounter with the teacher is after you enroll. Now you are enrolled and fee has been paid, you are not left with the option to leave institute without financial LOSS. But I still feel, even after paying the hefty amount, if you feel that your purpose is not being solved. Please change it, here I will advise parents even, that when your child confirms that it is not beneficial for him to continue studies at any center. Please stand by the CHILD and allow him to leave. Till that point you might suffer some financial loss, but if he continues there he/she will be LOOSING TIME, which cannot be recovered.
Ideally the teachers and coaching centers must give some interaction time with students, and then allow them to decide, but since this clashes with the business profits, they are not willing to do it. Firstly students of age of 16 years are immature to take decision, secondly we have peer pressure, thirdly influence of advertising media, so this decision has to be taken very WISELY. I have even seen students not taking the subjects, for which they were craving for, only for reasons that their friends have opted for other subjects.
One more thing we have to keep in mind, about the transportation time of student. Students have really shortage of time, it must be utilized properly. Child might go to a distant good education center, but advantage of that has to be weighed properly by his fatigue and time constraints as well.
And lastly see the class size, which should be of IMPORTANCE to you, such that YOUR problem is solved.! let me elaborate, how many students can I teach in my Class? If I have 40 students of almost equal caliber, I can teach them but If we have ONLY 10 students, but one scoring 90% and two others of 60%, leave others I cannot do justice to either of them. Check whether YOUR QUERY is resolved or not ?. This is IMPORTANT
तीसरे भाग मे हम बात करते हैं कि कहाँ पढ़ना है ? यह भी आजकल एक दुविधा का विषय बन गया है । अभिभावकों और बच्चों के लिए । इसका सबसे बड़ा कारण है कि आपको किसी भी संस्थान की आंतरिक जानकारी नहीं है । जो भी बाहर अखबार या किसी और मीडिया मे विज्ञापन के साथ आते उसमें कितना सच और कितना झूठ है यह आप नहीं कह सकते हैं । हर वर्ष जो आप देखते है कि जिसने भी किसी भी प्रतियोगी परीक्षा मे अच्छे अंक प्राप्त किए हैं उसके दावेदार बहुत से आ जाते है । इस वर्ष तो यह तक देखा गया है कि AIIMS के शीर्ष छात्र के नाम दो बड़ी संस्थाओं नें नियमित (regular) छात्र के रूप मे दे दिया । एक बात को आप और समझें कि कोई भी संस्थान हो चाहे दिल्ली का या चंडीगढ़ का या कोटा का फिर देश के किसी भी स्थान का, सब यह तो बताते हैं कि अमुक अमुक हमारा पढ़ाया बच्चा आया है परन्तु कितने बच्चे उनके पढ़ाये नहीं आए है उस पर कोई चर्चा नहीं है । दूसरे जो मेरे लिए अत्यन्त दुख की बात है कि यह संस्थान या अध्यापक कहीं न कहीं बच्चे की प्रतिभा को नगण्य कर देते हैं और लगभग सारा श्रेय खुद ले लेते हैं।
ऐसा कदापि सत्य नहीं है। बच्चे के अच्छे अंक लाने मे उसका स्वयं का सबसे अधिक योगदान है, उसके बाद उसके अभिभावक का और फिर आता है अध्यापक का, जिसका दिखाया रास्ता बच्चा चला । इसे एक उदाहरण से आप समझें कि आज देश के कई नामी संस्थान है जिनके खुद के बच्चे AIIMS, या NEET मे नहीं आ पाये और ऐसे ही जो IIT की JEE परीक्षा में उत्तीर्ण नहीं हुए, परंतु उनके संस्थान के कई बच्चे अच्छे अच्छे स्थान पर उत्तीर्ण हुए हैं ।
यदि मैं ऐसा कटाक्ष करूँ तो शायद कुछ लोग सका बुरा मान जाएँ आइये इसे मैं अपने उदाहरण से बताता हूँ । मेरा अपना पुत्र जिसने अपने समय में पहली बार में ही IITJEE में भौतिक शास्त्र में पूरे देश में सबसे अधिक अंक प्राप्त किए और 185 RANK ले कर उत्तीर्ण हुआ । वहीं मेरे एक और छात्र ने AIR 40 प्राप्त की । उस समय AIEEE का भी पेपर होता था । मेरे पुत्र के 1100 RANK थी और दूसरे बच्चे कि AIR 2 रही । अब प्रश्न है यदि मेरे पढ़ाने से होता तो मेरे पुत्र के अंक अधिक होने चाहिए थे । इसलिए मैं कहता हूँ कि आप स्वयं से सोचें कि कहाँ और कैसे पढ़ना है ?
यही एक बात पर फिर आपका ध्यान लाना चाहूँगा कि एकलव्य ने गुरु द्रोण की मात्र मूर्ति के सामने बैठ कर अर्जुन से अधिक ज्ञान प्राप्त किया इसका तो इतिहास साक्षी है । जिस अध्यापक से आपको समझ आता है वह आपके लिए बेहतर है । कोई भी अध्यापक सबके लिए बेहतर नहीं हो सकता । आप बच्चों स्वयं सोचें आप इतने सारे मित्रों के साथ बैठते हैं क्या सबको एक ही भोजन पसंद आता है । उत्तर स्पष्ट रूप से नकारात्मक ही होगा । ऐसे ही जिस गुरु के साथ आपका तालमेल अच्छा है वही आपके लिए बेहतर होगा । आज दुर्भाग्य है कि बड़े बड़े संस्थान में आपको अध्यापक से परिचय तभी होगा जब आप उनकी Fees जमा कर देंगे । उसके बाद यदि किसी की बात आपको समझ नहीं आएगी तो आप क्या करेंगे ? मेरे व्यक्तिगत विचार से किसी भी संस्थान से कभी भी 10% से अधिक बच्चे अपना लाभ नहीं उठा पाते हैं । बाकी सब तो इस भीड़ का हिस्सा बन कर रह जाते हैं ।
अब यह बात अभिभावकों को भी समझनी है कि यदि आपका बच्चा कभी भी किसी संस्थान में जाने के बाद कहता है कि उसे समझ नहीं आ रहा है तो आप यह कभी न सोचें कि इतनी फीस दे चुके हैं अब क्या होगा वहीं पढ़ो । अभी तो मात्र धन की हानी है परन्तु यदि समय रहते आप कदम नहीं उठा पाये तो समय का बहुत नुकसान होगा जिसकी भरपाई असंभव होगी ।
होना तो यह चाहिए की बड़े संस्थानों को भी कुछ समय बच्चों से अध्यापक इत्यादि की बातचीत को देना चाहिए, जिससे बच्चा अपने आप को सहज अनुभव कर सके । परंतु शायद आज के व्यावसायिक और प्रतियोगी दौर मे यह लगभग असंभव है । फिर भी मेरी मान्यता है यदि किसी तरह अध्यापक और बच्चे की एक मुलाक़ात संभव हो सके तो बच्चों को अपना निर्णय लेने में सहाता होगी । एक तो बच्चे की कच्ची उम्र दूसरे दोस्तों की बातों का प्रभाव होने के कारण अभिभावक कई बार अपने आपको असहाय अनुभव करते हैं । इस पर भी याद रखें संयम बड़ों को ही रखना है । आज के दौर मे बच्चों के पास समय की भी कमी है, इसलिए यदि कहीं पर छात्र अपने आने जाने का समय लगाता है तो वह भी उसके लिए हानिकारक है । समय बचेगा तो उसे ही वह सदुपयोग कर पाएगा । कुछ अभिभावक यह भी कहते पाये गए हैं कि मेरा पुत्र/पुत्री कार से अन्य वहाँ से चला जाएगा । तो ध्यान रहें कोई भी वहाँ आप व्यवस्था रखें शहरों के यातायात पर आपका ज़ोर नहीं है । इसके लिए समय जाएगा और जितना देर कोई भी यात्रा करेगा उतनी ही थकान बढ़ेगी ।
समय का सदुपयोग हो, अधिक समय की आवश्यकता न हो कर गुणवत्ता के समय की आवश्यकता है । सबके पास 24 घंटे हैं । सफल वही है जो इन 24 घंटों का सदुपयोग करेगा । इसलिए जहां भी पढ़ना है इस बात का ध्यान रखें । इस वहां से बाहर निकलें कि कोटा जा कर या चंडीगढ़ जा कर ही आप पढ़ सकते हैं । अकेले कोटा मे आने वाले कुल बच्चों मे से 1% से कम ही select होते हैं । आपका खुद का सबसे अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है । हाँ और आपको कहीं पर doubt इत्यादि हैं तो ज़रूर किसी की मदद ले लीजिये ।
